The most awaited Pixel 3a series smartphones got launched by Google along with launches of other gadgets at Google’s I/O 2019 keynote address. The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are the budget friendly presentations by the company to match the last year launched Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
The company has dumped the metallic or ceramic material for the body, instead, has used plastic this time to keep the cost low. Also, the company has used Dragon Tail glass protection instead of Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The highlight features of the smartphones include OLED FHD+ display, Snapdragon 670 SoC, 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and imprint fingerprint sensor. The smaller variant is called the Pixel 3a while the bigger one is called Pixel 3a XL.
The price of the Google Pixel 3a is set at INR 39,999 while the bigger Pixel 3a XL is set at a price of INR 44,999. The smartphones are available in Clearly White, Just Black and Purplish color variants. The handsets will go on sale in India from May 15, however, the registration will begin from May 8 via Flipkart. Let’s now look at the specifications and features of the Google Pixel duo
The Google Pixel 3a sports a 5.6-inch OLED Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 1080x2220px and dragon tail protection. On the optics front, the handset sports a 12.2-megapixel single lens Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture with both, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and 1.4-micron pixel size. The Google Pixel 3a sports a single lens 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view.
The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie and Google has promised 3 years of OS and security updates. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 670 SoC clocked at up to 2GHz, paired with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and Adreno 615 GPU. In terms of the internal storage capacity, the device offers 64GB internal storage capacity. The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery.
When it comes to the specifications of the Google Pixel 3a XL, it is bigger than the Pixel 3a with 6-inch OLED Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 1080x2160px. On optics and hardware front, the Pixel 3a XL offers the similar specifications like that of Pixel 3a. The battery, though, is larger with 3,700mAh power.
On connectivity front, the smartphones offer 4G VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and also have 3.5mm audio jack unlike the earlier launched Pixel 3 series. Sensors onboard include imprint fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, barometer, proximity, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and digital compass.
