The son of veteran Bihar politician, Lalu Prasad Yadav, heaved the Bihar politics just a couple of weeks ahead of the nation’s grandest general election 2019. Tej Pratap Yadav, on Thursday, resigned from the post of patron of student wing of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The 33 year old Yadav scion from Bihar took to Twitter to announce his bold step on Thursday.
“छात्र राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के संरक्षक के पद से मैं इस्तीफा दे रहा हूँ। नादान हैं वो लोग जो मुझे नादान समझते हैं। कौन कितना पानी में है सबकी है खबर मुझे। (I am resigning from the post of patron of student wing of RJD. Naive are those who consider me as naive. I am aware of who fares how much)” tweeted Pratap, ascending the suspicion of ‘all is ‘not’ well’ among the Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family.

The bold step taken by the former Health Minister of Bihar is critical as the Lok Sabha election 2019 is just a few days away. The rival political parties like Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) have already forged an alliance in Bihar to defeat RJD and other opposition parties. Tej Pratap Yadav is currently representing as the Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Mahua constituency. His step could possibly harm the image of the RJD party, especially, because he has party’s major share of youth followers.
Earlier today, a section of media reported that Yadav has nominated two candidates, Angesh Singh from Sheohar and Chandra Prakash from Jehanabad. He claimed to have appraised their names to his younger brother and leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav. He had also called for a press conference to formally announce the candidature of his nominated candidates. However, he didn’t appear in the press conference but took to Twitter to announce his resignation.
Tej Pratap Yadav, was last seen in a controversy after he accused his family of not supporting him in seeking divorce from his wife, Aishwarya Rai, daughter of former Chief Minister of Bihar, Daroga Rai. In the speculation of anguish among the family, he went missing for several weeks and returned only after four weeks to hold a gathering ‘Janata Darbar’. He continuously held Janata Darbar in Bihar, even though there were reports that the party’s Bihar president, Ramchandra Purve, distanced himself from such gathering.
