“Desh Bhakti hi meri Shakti hai (Patriotism is my power)” is the slogan of the biographical drama on Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose trailer is trending on YouTube. The trailer hit the Youtube on Wednesday and was successful in garnering over 9 million views in just one day. The film directed by Omung Kumar will release on April 5, a week before the commencement of the 2019 Lok Sabha Poll. The movie will be released in three languages viz; Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The two minute 35 seconds trailer begins with “Log sach mein dare huye hain, aap Kashmir ke mudde ko bhadkayenge aur Desh ke tukde-tukde ho jayenge (People are indeed scared, you will ignite Kashmir issue and the whole nation will be divided)” followed by glimpses of 2014 election and the introduction of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.
The trailer also contains stints from his childhood where he is selling tea in buses and shouting “Sabki Chai, Modi Ki Chai (everyone’s tea, Modi’s tea)”. Glimpses of his self-imposed exile from marriage and family, and his Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) training is covered in the later part of the trailer. Turbanated Narendra Modi courting arrest is a reference of Emergency during Indira Gandhi’s governance.
The lines that has strike the chords of masses come towards the end of the trailer when Modi angrily says, “Chetawani deta hu mein Pakistan ko, agar dobara hum par haath uthaya, toh haath kaat dunga. Tumne hamara balidan dekha hai, ab badla bhi dekhoge. (I give Pakistan the ultimatum, I will amputate your hands if you raise it on us (India). You have seen our sacrifices, we will show you our revenge too)”
Vivek Oberoi who is playing the titular role in the movie has managed to impress the audience with his performance. From being a Chaiwala, to a sage, RSS worker, Chief Minister of Gujarat and finally the 14th Prime Minister of India, Vivek has justified all of them with his spectacular acting.
Beside Vivek, the film star, Boman Irani, will be seen playing the role of Ratan Tata and Manoj Joshi playing Amit Shah. Zarina Wahab plays Modi’s Mother, Prashant Narayanan has been cast to play the role of crooked businessman and Barkha Bisht is roped up to play the role of Modi’s estranged wife.
