The Japanese automobile brand, Suzuki, launched a sport attractive mini sport bike, Suzuki DR-Z50, in India recently. The mini-bike adds to the company’s initiative to induct new young bikers who love sporty and off-road riding. It comes from the range of RM-Z family of Suzuki for the state-of-the-art off-road riding for the young beginners. The price of the Suzuki DR-Z50 is nothing like it’s ‘mini’ size, the starting price itself is set at INR 2,55,000 (ex-showroom in India).
With push button electric start and 49cc engine, the Japanese auto giant has tried to woo the young riders through it’s new presentation to gain the TG’s trust in choosing their brand when it comes to the sport motorbiking. The DR-Z50 embodies MX racing style design along with single-pot 4 stroke motor with company claimed smooth 3-speed transmission and automatic clutch.

Since the TG is young ones, the seat height is set at 560mm while the weight is 54kg. Talking about the suspension, the front is equipped with inverted forks coil spring suspension and the rear with oil-damped coil spring monoshock suspension. The bike features 10-inch sturdy wire-spoke wheels wrapped with tube-type knobby tyres, equipped with drum brakes for optimum braking system on both ends. The bike offloads headlamps, DRLs, blinkers, tail-lights and rear-view mirrors considering it’s wide usage in off-road riding.
The company, though, has other models in the same segment but at a much superior price range. The Suzuki RM-Z250 and RM-Z450, launched in October 2018, are already offering the off-road riding experience to the TG. The Suzuki RM-Z250 is priced INR 7.1 Lakh while the Suzuki RM-Z450 comes at the price of INR 8.31 Lakh (both the price are ex-showroom). As for the competition to the bike in the Indian market, the rival Kawasaki already has it’s Kawasaki KLX110 at a slightly higher price of INR 2,99,500 (ex-showroom in India).
