The Italian motorcycle manufacturing brand, Benelli, has recently unveiled it’s aggressive looking and adventure-focussed bike, Benelli TRK 502 and Benelli TRK 502X, in India. The beak shaped model of the more than a century old motorcycle brand, is sure a attention grabbing bike, now attracting the sports bikers of India. The starting price of Benelli TRK502 is set at INR 5,00,000 (ex-showroom price in India). The company is projecting the bike as a touring bike which is considered competent when contemplating the idea of long distance riding.

Talking about the look of the bike, the bike seems to have been modified into a beak shaped sports bike, with a rough and intimidating design. The bike has been given twin headlamps with LED DRLs as well as LED turn indicators, with a windscreen to give a finished look. Behind the windscreen is positioned a semi digital console featuring analogue based speedometer on the left while the digital tachometer on the right. The bike has 50mm inverted forks suspension support as well as crash guard on both sides of the bike to protect the fairing. The crash guard comes as a part of the standard package. With 6-speed gearbox, the bike embodies 500cc parallel twin liquid-cooled DOHC motor producing 47bhp power and 46nm torque, with fuel injection technology.

The Benelli TRK502 employs dual disc paired with 4-pot radial callipers for braking system. For smoke exhausting, the company chose a compact exhaust over a upswept exhaust which are considered one of the best arrangements for off road riding or water-logged roads. The compact exhaust ends behind the right foot peg which could look very organized and well ordered, however, it has it’s own drawback when riding off-road and on water-logged roads. Talking about the seating, the rider gets to sit at 800mm above the ground while the split-seat design allows the ‘pillion passenger’ sit above the rider’s seat for the clear front view from behind the rider.
Talking about the tyres, it features Pirelli touring tyres mounted on the 17-inch alloy wheels.
