Does India need another Surgical Strike on Pakistan after Pulwama Terror Attack?

Even after the surgical strike, the JeM has dared to contrive a catastrophic attack on the CRPF personnel in Kashmir valley. This time also, India will have to hit back hard to send out a clear message that this is a new India and that for every brick, there'll be a stone from India. The message to the perpetrators of this attack must be strong and powerful, which is only possible through surgical strike 2.0. When the whole world was expressing and celebrating love on the Valentine’s Day, 78 Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) vehicles with over 2500 men were on Srinagar-Jammu highway heading to Srinagar from Jammu. The highway was sanitised by the security officials earlier in the morning and was termed as ‘serious breach’ by the authority. At 3:15 pm, when the convoy reached Latoomode in Awantipora (South Kashmir), an SUV carrying 350 kg of RDX rammed one of the army buses resulting in a disastrous blast which was observed by people in 1km radius. The spot was just 10km away from Srinagar, where the convoy had to stop. The responsibility of the terror attack was immediately taken by most wanted terrorist, Masood Azhar, led JeM, who were also responsible for the 2016 URI Attack.

The attack is considered as one of the deadliest attacks in the last decade on an Indian territory against any Indian security forces. The attack is considered in-line with the 2016 terrorist attack in the army camp of Uri. The 2016 attack had taken place on September 18, 2016, at the army camp in Uri district in Kashmir valley where 19 jawans had lost their lives. Four terrorists belonging to JeM faction entered the army camp in Uri sector in the army garb, lobbed multiple genades in short span of time which led to a massive fire in the barracks and tents. This led to the brutal killing of the 19 army men in their own tents when they were without any weapons and were in their sleep. The whole nation mourned on this day and the demand to strike back brought the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government under pressure. Following this attack, Indian Armed forces carried out a surgical strike in Bhimber, Hotspring, Kel and Lipa sectors on Pakistan side of Line of Control (LOC) and killed many terrorists which is beautifully depicted in the movie titled ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ released in January this year.
