Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 launched in India with IP68 Build, 3GB RAM and 4,450mAh Battery, Price & Specs to Know

The device was launched in Netherlands in October 2017, however, the Indian version seems to have been brought with minor changes. The highlight features to recall are the IP68 certification and military grade MIL-STD-840G build, 3GB RAM and 4,450mAh removable battery. The company claims the device embodies defence grade Knox security platform which is said to protect the device from malware and hacks. The device comes with S Pen integration and pogo pin connector along with strong touch capability.

The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has launched Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 in India on Thursday. The device was launched in Netherlands in October 2017, however, the Indian version seems to have been brought with minor changes. The highlight features to recall are the IP68 certification and military grade MIL-STD-840G build, 3GB RAM and 4,450mAh removable battery. The company claims the device embodies defence grade Knox security platform which is said to protect the device from malware and hacks.

The device comes with S Pen integration and pogo pin connector along with strong touch capability. However, these features are claimed by Samsung and we haven’t got a chance yet to have a hands-on experience with the device. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is set at INR 50,990 for the only variant with 3GB RAM + 16GB inbuilt memory. The device will go on sale from mid-March in India. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 sports an 8-inch WXA TFT LCD display with screen resolution of 800×1280 pixels with 16:10 aspect ratio and approx. 67.7% screen-to-body ratio. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On the optics front, the tab has a simple camera department with single lens 8-megapixel primary sensor at the rear with an LED flash and 5-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 7870 SoC clocked at approx. 1.6GHz, paired with 3GB RAM. The internal storage capacity is provided as 16GB which is further expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card. The device is fuelled by a 4,450mAh removable battery.

On the connectivity front, the tab features single nano 4G LTE SIM slot, dual band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, pogo pin connector, Type C reversible connector and 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors onboard include rear mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyroscope, digital compass and proximity.
