Congress MLA suspended for injuring fellow MLA, Apologizes to the Family of the Injured Legislator

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) while taking a note of the allegations put on it's MLA JN Ganesh, has, on Monday, suspended him and has ordered an inquiry in the case. The accused legislator, JN Ganesh, in the meanwhile, on Monday, apologized to the family of injured fellow lawmaker, Anand Singh, and refuted the charges of manhandling Singh.

The political hustling in Karnataka was in the news for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trying to accomplish their ‘Operation Lotus’ by, allegedly, luring Congress party’s Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) to form it’s government in the state. However, the news turned to the internal brawl among the members of the state Congress party. The recent feud between Congress party MLA JN Ganesh and Anand Singh, another MLA belonging to the same party in the state, has substantiated the news of internal feud among the Congress party’s legislators. The whole episode unfolded on Sunday when the Congress party lawmaker, Anand Singh, was admitted to a private hospital after, allegedly, manhandled by another Congress party legislator in the state, JN Ganesh, on Saturday. Anand Singh had, reportedly, sustained injuries and his picture shared by news agency, ANI, confirmed the injury report. The whole incident took place in a private resort where Congress party had shifted it’s MLAs, on Friday, in the fear of losing them to the rival political party, BJP.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) while taking a note of the allegations put on it’s MLA JN Ganesh, has, on Monday, suspended him and has ordered an inquiry in the case. The order to immediately suspend the accused legislator came at the behest of the KPCC president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, the press release confirmed. The statement released by the state Congress unit, revealed that the party leaders conducted a preliminary inquiry of the disturbing incident that took place on January 19 and have decided to constitute a committee to gather a detailed report of the case. The committee is reported to be headed by the state Deputy Chief Minister, G Parameshwara and will include some ministers like KJ George and Krishna Byre Gowda to bring out the truth.

The accused legislator, JN Ganesh, in the meanwhile, on Monday, apologized to the family of injured fellow lawmaker, Anand Singh, and refuted the charges of manhandling Singh. “I would like to apologize to the family (Anand Singh) if they’re hurt. Whatever the media is reporting is false. We had a heated argument. The quarrel snowballed. He slipped and he has suffered these injuries,” clarified lawmaker, JN Ganesh, quoted ANI. The injured Congress MLA, as of now, is hospitalised where he is given the necessary treatment.
