Huawei Y9 (2019) with Dual Selfie Cameras, HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor and 4,000mAh Battery Launched in India, Price & Specs to know

The highlight features of Huawei's new presentation include 3D arc design, dual rear as well as selfie camera, HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, 4GB RAM and 4,000mAh battery. The price of the only variant of the smartphone with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage is set at INR 15,990. It will go on sale from January 15 exclusively on Amazon India. The color variants include Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.

The Chinese tech giant, Huawei, has unveiled it’s new smartphone, Huawei Y9 (2019) in India on Thursday. The smartphone is the successor to the last year launched Huawei Y9 (2018) and was first launched in China in October last year. The highlight features of Huawei’s new presentation include 3D arc design, dual rear as well as selfie camera, HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, 4GB RAM and 4,000mAh battery. The price of the only variant of the smartphone with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage is set at INR 15,990. It will go on sale from January 15 exclusively on Amazon India. The color variants include Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.

Huawei Y9 (2019) dominates the front with 6.5-inch Full-HD+ 3D curved FullView IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen comes with pixel density of approximate 396ppi and roughly 82.8% screen-to-body ratio. On the optics front, the smartphone sports a dual lens camera module at the back with 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, backed with an LED flash. While at the front, the smartphone bears a dual lens camera module just like the rear camera, however, the primary sensor features 16-megapixel resolution with f/2.0 aperture and 2 micron pixel size, while 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras are enhanced with AI technology and scene recognition optimization to provide better photography experience.

Under the hood, the device runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a12nm Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, clocked at up to 2.2GHz, coupled with 4GB RAM and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. The inbuilt storage capacity is limited to 64GB, expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card. The inbuilt battery capacity is the highlight feature of the device and comes with 4,000mAh power.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G VoLTE enabled SIM slots with a dedicated slot for a MicroSD card. The other connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, MicroUSB 2.0, FM Radio and 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors onboard include fingerprint sensor, ambient light, accelerometer, proximity, gyroscope and digital compass. The device weighs 173g and measures 162.4×77.1×8.1mm.
