December, the last month of the year bring with it many celebrations and festivities. A lot of joy, happiness and enjoyment is surrounded during this month. There’s a lot to celebrate from a snow fall to New year eve and Christmas celebrations.
Festivities bring along with them a lot to enjoy and obviously to eat too. All we want is a warm appetizer. This month, everyone enjoys holidays for Christmas and plans to satiate their appetite with cuisines known for December month. Well, today we will tell you the recipes that are perfect for December party dessert or main course. So our list goes like this –
1. Red Wine Cake
How can one not have this during Christmas time. Well, all you need for this delicious cake is – 1 cup white sugar, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 teaspoon baking powder, 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour, ½ cup red wine, 4 tablespoon unsweetened coca powder. Let’s know the process to cook Red Wine Cake. Preheat oven to 360 degrees F. Add sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla chocolate chips, stir well until the mixture smoothes and turns creamy. Then add baking powder, flour and red wine. Do not stir much now. Grease a pan cake and spread the batter made and heat it for 45 mins – 1 hour. The Red Wine Cake is ready.
2. Hanukkah Doughnuts
These are deep fried jelly doughnuts traditionally eaten during Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Ingredients required for this are – ¾ cup of whole milk, 1 tbsp dry yeast, 3 cups all purpose flour, 1/3 cup superfine sugar, 6 tbsp unsalted butter, 1 egg, 4 tbsp apple brandy, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, 5 cups canola oil, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 tbsp ground cinnamon and 3 cups strawberry.

Warm the milk for 1 minute, sprinkle yeast over it and leave for 10 minutes. Add all other ingredients to make a dough, knead it slowly and then cover it with a plastic wrap and leave for 10 minutes. Roll the dough in small balls and arrange it on a tray. Now mix granulated sugar with cinnamon in a medium bowl. Fry the doughnut until it turns brown. Your doughnut are ready to serve
3. Roasted Broccoli Grilled Cheese
The best way to add Broccoli to your meal is through Roasted Broccoli Grilled Cheese. You require florets from 1 medium Broccoli, 2 tbsp Olive Oil, ½ tbsp salt, ½ teaspoon Black Pepper, unsalted Butter, Bread slices, 1 cup thinly sliced cheese. Preheat oven for 400 degrees F. On a sheet pan, put some oil, broccoli, salt and pepper and roast for 8-10 minutes. Let it cool then. Spread butter on both sides of bread slice, put some broccoli chopped in the center of the slice, cover it with cheese, cover it with another bread slice. Grill them, and they are ready to serve.
4. Vanilla Pudding
This is yummy on it’s own, and also with fruits and cookies. A perfect appetizer for your December parties. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in a bowl and keep it aside. Heat the milk, do not boil it, just heat until the milk starts bubbling over a medium flame. Add your sugar mixture to the milk. Stir it until it becomes thick. Remove it from the heat and put vanilla extract and butter to it. Put it in a container that can be covered, freeze it overnight or at least for an hour.
5. Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits
These biscuits can be part of your lunch, brunch or even snacks. To make these biscuits, you want 6 cups of all purpose flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tbsp baking soda, 2 tbsp kosher salt, 1 cup of unsalted butter, 2 ¼ cups of buttermilk, thinly sliced dijon mustard. Stir baking powder, baking soda, flour and salt. Add chilled butter to the mixture, and mix it. Add buttermilk to it and stir, do not overwork with dough. Spread the dough and cut it with biscuits cutter. Place it in pre-heated oven at 420 degree F. Bake the biscuits for another 20 mins.
6. Puff Pastry
A delicious, light, flaky pastry is a perfect snack for any parties. Ingredients required to make it are: 2 1/3 cups of plain flour, 200g butter, salt (as per taste), chilled water & 1 tbsp lemon juice. Mix lemon juice, water and keep it aside. Take a container and mix flour, salt and butter add in the liquid and knead a dough. Bring the dough together to form a ball and wrap it in a cling film. Refrigerate it.
7. Maple Chile Popcorn
This hot and yummy tasting dish requires 8 cups of popcorn (popped), ½ cup of maple syrup, 1 tbsp of butter, salt (as per taste) and red pepper. Place popcorn in a glass or metal bowl lightly coated with cooking spray. Combine syrup, butter, salt and pepper in a pan on medium heat. Stir for 2 minutes. Put the syrup on popcorn placed in bowl and spread it evenly. Bake it at 300 degrees for 15 minutes. And they are ready to be served.
