The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray, who is known for his tirades against the North Indian ‘Bhaiyas’, especially, from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, addressed a gathering, apparently, organised by the same North Indians on Sunday. The event was organised in Mumbai’s Kandivali where Raj Thackeray, surprised everyone by addressing the North Indian mass in Hindi, unlike his usual addressing in Marathi. The MNS supremo backed his Hindi addressing with a reason, the reason for him to be understood completely by the audience who may not be familiar to the native Marathi language.

He emphasized that he hasn’t come to clarify anything, as the people who love him will not seek any clarification from him and the ones who hate him will not care about his clarification. The nephew of the most powerful political personality, Balasaheb Thackeray, substantiated his stance of first priority to the state’s native than to the outsiders. “Youths from Maharashtra should be given priority if there are any job opportunities in the state. If there are job opportunities in Maharashtra, is it wrong that youth of Maharashtra be given first priority? If an industry is setup in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow, then youth there should be given first preference, the same should happen in Bihar, what is wrong in it?” asserted Thackeray in Kandivali, quoted ANI.

He questioned the mass gathered at the event if they have any self-respect, to question their ministers in their state for lack of industrialization and jobs in the state. He counted on names of Prime Ministers from Uttar Pradesh and criticized them for not developing their own state. “States such as Uttar Pradesh have given so many prime ministers, including current Prime Minister Narendra Modi (who is MP from Varanasi). None of you ask them (the leaders), why the state is lagging behind in industrialization and why there are no jobs there.” questioned Thackeray to the gathering, quoted TOI.

Taking a reference of the recent violent attack on Bihar migrants after a worker from Bihar raped a minor in Gujarat, he said that if he or his party does it, the media and everyone else highlight and criticize it but if it happens in the state where it’s BJP’s government, nobody cares. He questioned if prioritizing jobs and education to the statesmen is wrong. “When I take a stand which leads to conflict with people from UP and Bihar, everyone comes down heavily on me. But after the recent attacks on Bihari people in Gujarat, nobody questioned the ruling party (BJP) or the prime minister (whose home state is Gujarat),” Thackeray said, quoted TOI.
