The South Korean smartphone maker, Samsung, has made a new budget friendly smartphone, Samsung Galaxy J4 Core, official. The smartphone’s price is yet to be revealed but considering the price of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core which was launched at INR 6,190, the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core may end up somewhere close to it’s ancestor’s price. The highlight features of the smartphone doesn’t really interest us to a large extent, except the 6-inch HD+ display, Android Go edition or the 8-megapixel rear camera.

The smartphone is company’s second smartphone to be powered by Android Go edition, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core was the first by the company to run on Android Go version and came preloaded with Optimised Data Control and Ultra Data Saving. It was launched in August this year and since then, there were rumours that the South Korean giant may bring the upgraded version of Galaxy J2 Core. We will only be able to say if the smartphone is worth buying or worth’s to lie in check-and-leave category, after Samsung reveals it’s price. The Samsung Galaxy J4 Core sports a 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 720x1480px, 18.5:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of roughly 274ppi. The smartphone sports a single lens camera at the back with 8-megapixel sensor and f/2.2 aperture backed with an LED flash. The selfie shooter features a 5-megapixel camera sensor with same f/2.2 aperture and backed with an LED flash for low light selfies. Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy J4 Core is powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 SoC clocked at up to 1.4GHz, paired with only 1GB RAM and Adreno 308. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition and encompasses 16GB inbuilt storage capacity, expandable to up to 512GB using a MicroSD card. It is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery which doesn’t seem, prima facie, to meet your expectations if you are a gamer or a smartphone freak.

On the connectivity front, it features dual 4G VoLTE enabled SIM support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, MicroUSB 2.0 which supports OTG, FM Radio and Recording. Sensors on-board include accelerometer, proximity and digital compass. It measures 160.6×76.1×7.9mm.
