The scuffle between BJP Delhi chief, Manoj Tiwari, and Aam Admi Party (AAP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Amanutullah Khan, was allegedly caught on camera and has become an intense political clash in the national capital, Delhi. The BJP Delhi chief alleges that he was pushed by Amanutullah with the intention to cause him to fall from the edge of the elevated platform where he was standing while attending the Signature Bridge Inauguration on Sunday. A video, allegedly, of this incident has also surfaced in which a huge number of AAP workers and police personnels can be seen running towards Tiwari when Amanutullah pursue Tiwari to push him. Tiwari has hit back on AAP and it’s chief, Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the Chief Minister of Delhi, accusing him of allowing such misconduct in his presence. “AAM Admi Party MLA Amanutullah Khan pushed me, the whole incident took place in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister. I am going to file an FIR over the incident. Khan’s bail should be cancelled immediately,” said Tiwari, quoted ANI. Tiwari has also accused police personnels and AAP workers of stopping him from attending the event. He claimed to have identified one of the police officers as Additional DCP-1 of the area. He further threatened of teaching them a lesson within four days.
The AAP leader, Dilip Pandey, called Tiwari’s act as hooliganism when he said, “Thousands of people have come here to celebrate without an invitation card, but the MP (Manoj Tiwari) considers himself VIP. He is doing hooliganism. The BJP people thrashed AAP volunteers and local people. They are admitted to hospital,” quoted ANI. However, Tiwari claims to have been invited to the event as he is the Member of Parliament (MP) from the same constituency. “I am a Member of Parliament from this area. I got the work for this bridge restarted and this is how Arvind Kejriwal is treating me. I was invited to the inauguration event. So what is the problem? Am I a criminal? Why have the police surrounded me? I’m here to welcome him (Arvind Kejriwal). The AAP and police have misbehaved with me,” accused Tiwari before Media after the incident.
The accused MLA in the case, Amanutullah Khan, however, refuted Tiwari’s allegations. “When he (Tiwari) was trying to climb the stage, I stopped him, I did not push him. It was obvious from his actions that if he was successful in climbing the stage, he would have misbehaved or attacked the Chief Minister (Arvind Kejriwal) and Deputy Chief Minister (Manish Sisodia).” Khan told ANI. Khan also refuted Tiwari’s claim of being invited to the event and accused BJP MP and his supporters of showing black flags and tearing the hoardings at the event.
Talking about the Signature Bridge, it is reported that the bridge was announced in 2004 which lengths 575-meter and is meant to reduce the travel time between North-Eastern parts and Northern parts of Delhi. It is claimed to be the first asymmetrical string stayed bridge in India.
