Shawarma is one of the most delicious and mouth watering dishes that foodies crave for. And it is a world’s popular street food, mostly seen in the country like Arabian peninsula as Shawarma is an Arab dish. It is actually made of lamb or mutton. Shawarma is also made with chicken and is prominently served in India where chicken is eaten by majority of non-vegetarians in the country. There are lots of shops which serve Chicken Shawarma specially in Muslim areas.

Shawarma is prepared by cutting in Chicken flesh into thin slices, Marinating and by Grilling. Stacked in a cone shaped wrap of vertical rotisserie, it is filled with various ingredients including slices of chicken flesh. These slices are shaved off the cooked surface of chicken flesh around a vertical rod as it continuously rotates around the heat. Shawarma may be served on a plate, but it is most commonly prepared as a wrap inside of flat bread. It is often served with diced Tomatoes, cucumber and onions.

Recipe:
Ingredients
- 250 grams of Chicken Breast or Thigh (Boneless Chicken flesh)
- 1½ Garlic Cloves minced about 1 large
- 1½ tbsp extra Virgin Olive Oil
- ½ Cumin
- ½ tbsp Chilli powder
- Salt as needed
- 2 pinch Cinnamon powder
- ⅛ tbsp Pepper
- 1 Onion
- 1 Tomato
- ¼ all Spices
- 1 pinch Turmeric
- 2 tbsp Yogurt

Preparation
Cut chicken to small-sized pieces. Keep it all aside in a dish. Mix all the ingredients for marinade. Add lemon juice if needed or as per the taste and add more salt if needed. Marinate Chicken with the mixture. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 12-24 hours. Pour half tbsp Olive oil on a pan kept on a high heat. When the pan is hot, place the chicken and flip to cook on all the sides evenly. When the chicken is tender cooked, shred it on the pan with a wooden spoon. Cook further for 1-2 mins. Set this aside and use the same card to grill quartered layered onions and tomatoes. Serve Chicken Shawarma as appetizer with yogurt and garlic sauce. Lastly spread sauce on the pita bread, place chicken, grilled onions and tomatoes and roll it up. Your home made Shawarma is all ready to be tasted.
