The Indian telecom giant, Reliance Jio, is back with another feature phone called Jio Phone 2, essentially, the successor to the last year launched Jio Phone. The phone got launched more than a month back but there were no information on the availability of the phone. This will be company’s second 4G feature phone after Jio Phone. The design of the phone resembles to that of a BlackBerry phone and the company has brought QWERTY keypad for the consumers in the new feature phone. Recently, Xiaomi has also gone ahead for the crowdfunding to bring couple of feature phones for the consumers named Qin1 and Qin1 s wherein the latter will be a 4G feature phone.
As far as the price is concerned, the Jio Phone 2 is priced Rs. 2,999 without the refund option like it brought with the Jio Phone. The phone was available for pre-order on our Independence Day i.e. August 15. The company has scheduled a flash sale today at 12pm via it’s own official website Jio.com. The Jio Phone 2 is paired with tariff plans starting at Rs. 49, going up to Rs. 153. Let’s now look at the specs and features of the phone
The Jio Phone 2 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display with screen resolution of 240×320 pixels. The phone runs on Kai OS while being powered by 1GHz Dual Core processor coupled with 512MB RAM under the hood and 4GB inbuilt storage capacity, expandable to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. The camera setup includes a 2-megapixel rear camera while a 0.3-megapixel front VGA camera. It encompasses 2,000mAh battery backup.
On the connectivity front, the phone offers dual 4G SIM (Nano) support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, wireless FM Radio, MicroUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm Audio Jack.
