After a number of releases of the smartphone on various e-commerce sites, the Android One supported Xiaomi Mi A2 has launched in Spain on Tuesday. The smartphone had on July 23 made it’s appearance on a UK as well as Chinese sites for pre-order. The sites also revealed the specs of the smartphone. Talking about the Mi A2, it’s the successor to the last year launched Mi A1 which had not made that great impression before the consumers. The highlight features of the smartphone seemed to be 18:9 aspect ratio, Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 chipset, AI powered dual lens camera at the back and 3,010mAh battery.

Talking about the price of the smartphone, the Mi A2 with 4GB RAM + 32GB internal storage is priced EUR 249 (Approx. INR 20,100) while the other variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage is priced EUR 279 (Approx. INR 22,500). The final variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage is priced EUR 349 (Approx. INR 28,100). The smartphone will be available in Black, Blue, Red, Gold and Rose Gold color variants. The company starts it’s sale from this month and is planning to bring it to 40 countries where India will be on a priority. The Xiaomi Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. When it comes to the optics, the smartphone sports a dual lens camera module with the AI technology with PDAF and a dual tone LED flash. The dual lens camera setup comprises of 12-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX486 configuration while the secondary camera with 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor. As for the front shooter, the Mi A2 sports a 20-megapixel camera with Sony IMX-376 sensor and a dedicated LED flash.

The Mi A2 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo supported by the Android One which benefits the consumers with regular updates on security and software updates. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM and Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal memory storage variants while letting the option to expand the memory to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. As far as the battery is concerned, it consists of 3,010mAh non-removable battery.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G LTE SIM support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, GPS/A-GPS and lacks the 3.5mm Audio Jack. It will be a failure if it brings the same model without 3.5mm Audio Jack as the consumers are more use to using the 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors onboard include ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity and Gyroscope. The smartphone weighs 168g and measures 158.7×75.4×7.3mm.
