The homegrown brand, Intex, has launched a new smartphone, Intex Indie 5, for the Indian consumers on Tuesday. Priced Rs. 4,999, the smartphone comes with a giant 4,000mAh battery, MediaTek chipset and LED selfie flash for selfie lovers. The brand has tried to woo the budget-friendly consumers by trying to bring something like 2.5D curved glass feature in a smartphone at such a cheap price rate. The company has provided a MediaTek chipset in the smartphone which requires additional battery power, thanks to the engineering of 4,000mAh battery provided in the smartphone. The smartphone is available in Black Color variant and via online as well as offline stores. The pre-loaded apps include Amazon Prime Video, Gaana, SwiftKey and QR code scanner.

Let’s look at the specifications of the smartphone

The Intex Indie 5 sports a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixel, pixel density of 294ppi and comes protected with Dragontail Glass protection. On the optics front, the smartphone comes with single lens rear as well as front shooter. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel optic sensor at the front as well as at the back of the smartphone, backed with an LED flash. Under the hood, It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box OS and is powered by a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737 SoC clocked at up to 1.25GHz, paired with 2GB DDR3 RAM and Adreno Mali T-720 GPU. As far as the inbuilt storage is concerned, the smartphone features only 16GB inbuilt storage capacity, expandable to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G VoLTE SIM support, WiFi with Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0, USB with OTG support and a 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors onboard include proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and gravity sensor. The Intex Indie 5 weighs 162g and measures 146.5×72.2×10.1mm.
