The Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched 2 set of new smartphones in India, one of them has already been launched in April this year in Brazil. The 2 smartphones, Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus, wherein the former is a new entry level smartphone in India by Moto whereas the Moto E5 Plus was launched in Brazil in April this year with a slightly higher version of Snapdragon 435. The smartphones are splash resistant, thanks to the nano-coating engineering. The Moto E5 Play which was launched alongside Moto E5 Plus in Brazil is only restricted to the US market.

The smartphones will be available via Amazon India and offline retailers too. As far as the price is concerned, the Moto E5 is priced INR 9,999, whereas the Moto E5 Plus is priced INR 11,999. The sale of the former has already begun while the latter will be ready for sale from July 11. The availability of Moto E5 is through Amazon India, Moto Hub stores and leading retail stores while the Moto E5 Plus will be available via Amazon India and Moto Hub stores. The former will be available in Fine Gold and Flash Grey color variants while the latter will be available in Black and Fine Gold color variants.
Moto E5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ Max Vision IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 720x1440px, and aspect ratio of 18:9. At the back, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel single lens camera which may be a disappointing factor to the buyers, backed by an LED flash. At the front, it sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, backed by a selfie LED flash for low light selfie or video calls. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Out-of-the-box OS and is powered by a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC clocked at up to 1.4GHz, paired with 2GB RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage capacity, expandable to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. The smartphone is fuelled by a lesser capacity battery than E5 plus, i.e. 4,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G LTE SIM support, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM Radio and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

The smartphone dominates the front with a 6-inch HD+ Max Vision IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 720x1440px, with a screen aspect ratio of 18:9. At the rear side, in terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, laser autofocus and an LED flash. The smartphone sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front with a soft LED flash. As for the software features, unlike the global variant, the Indian variant of Moto E5 Plus is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at up to 1.4GHz, paired with 3GB RAM. As far as the storage is concerned, the smartphone bears 32GB inbuilt storage, expandable to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. The smartphone packs a giant 5,000mAh non-removable battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G LTE SIM support, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, MicroUSB, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio and a 3.5mm Audio Jack. Both the smartphones come with fingerprint sensor among the others in the smartphones.
