On Friday this week was released a song “Naino se bandhi” from Reema Kagti’s upcoming direction, Gold. And yes you guessed it right! What is cooking between Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy is “Gold”. The song launch created a huge buzz as it featured the fresh pair, Khiladi Kumar and television beauty Mouni wrapped up in a sizzling chemistry. This film is a fictionalised patriotic sport drama where Akshay plays the role of Tapan Das, dedicated hockey coach from Bengal. Das had a dream for the free India to win a gold medal for hockey in Olympics.

At the event talking about all the sports based films from Bollywood and government’s encouragement to sports, Akshay Kumar said, “People should know what happened in 1948… How we won the first Olympic gold medal in hockey after the independence of India. I think things also have changed because the government is supporting the sport a lot, the number of medals are increasing in the game, so I am happy seeing the encouragement,” Roy making her much awaited big screen debut with this film is seen playing the character of Akshay’s wife, Monobina Das.

This Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani production also stars Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal. This song launch became the much talked “Bolly Buzz” when a video shared by Mouni Roy, which showed a very high energy Kumar along with the saree clad Roy grooving to the beats on a table went viral on Internet. The synchronised dance actions bringing smiles to all the faces present at the launch clearly showcased the strong chemistry the pair shares. Khiladi of the Bollywood who has already made some of all time favourite onscreen pair with Katrina Kaif and Raveena Tandon seems all set to make one more onscreen hit jodi with this movie. Roy, one of the most loved faces in the television industry was initially believed to make her debut sharing the screen with Salman Khan but the news has always been uncertain. Which resulted in upsetting Mouni’s fans a lot. But her presence on screen in the “Gold” trailer has stirred a lot of excitement in the Hindi television fans.

This retelling of the story of a golden dream from 1948 is all set to grace the screens on the 15th of August uniting the audience and creating a sporty atmosphere of patriotism in theatres. This movie has also been in the spot light for the release date clash reason, as it is to be released on the same date of that of John Abraham’s, Satyameva Jayate.
