A strangely shocking incident from Guwahati airport was reported and brought to light through a tweet on Wednesday. At Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, on June 24, a woman was allegedly strip-searched as a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) lady staff demanded to verify her pregnancy. Reports are that the alleged pregnant lady known to be, Doli Goswami, was returning to Delhi from Guwahati along with her husband Shivam Sarmah. The INDIA TODAY report also states that the couple had requested for a wheel chair to be arranged for the wife but while passing through the security, they were brought to a halt by the CISF lady staff. Who then denied handing them their boarding passes and instead asked the 25 weeks pregnant woman to give a proof of her pregnancy.

The fact that while all this drama unfolded on an airport filled with hundreds of people, no one really seemed question why a pregnant lady was being taken to a separate room in such a way is something that should trouble us. The question to ask here is, while our nation sets up all the security processes to protect us who protects humanity?
