The South Korean tech brand, LG, has unveiled a new flagship smartphone, LG X5 (2018) at an event in South Korea on Tuesday. The smartphone is a successor to the 2016 year launched LG X5 and comes with very few enhanced features than that available in the previous version.

The highlight features of the smartphone are it’s 18:9 display, Octa-Core MediaTek chipset and a  gargantuan 4,500mAh battery backup. The company has dumped the boxy look of the predecessor and featured round edges in the LG X5 (2018). As far as the price is concerned, LG X5 (2018) is priced KRW 3,63,000 (Approx. INR 22,400). It will be available in Moroccan Blue color variant and is available to buy in the South Korean market already. The availability of the smartphone in other countries is still unknown. LG X5 (2018) packs a 5.5-inch HD display with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone sports a single lens camera with 13-megapixel sensor at the back with an LED flash for low light photography. At the front, it sports a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls, supported by an LED flash for low light condition. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo which is better than the earlier launched version and is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 SoC clocked at up to 1.5GHz, paired by 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. As for the internal storage, LG X5 (2018) comes with 32GB internal storage capacity, expandable using a MicroSD card. It is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery compatible to fast charging. It weighs 171g and measures 154.7×78.1×8.9mm.

On the connectivity front, LG X5 (2018) features dual 4G LTE SIM support, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB and 3.5mm Audio Jack. As for the sensor, it features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
