The Chinese smartphone brand, Vivo, has finally unveiled the much awaited Vivo Nex series smartphones for the Chinese consumers on Tuesday. In a launch held in China, the brand launched Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex A for the consumers there. The brand hasn’t revealed as to when the smartphones will be available globally and in India. Talking about the highlight features, the smartphones have debuted pop up camera for front camera photography. The front camera works with the help of a motorized mechanism which pops up a camera above the smartphone when requested for it.

Talking about the price, Vivo Nex S is priced CNY 4,498 (Approx. INR 47,400) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage variant while the 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage variant is priced CNY 4,998 (Approx. INR 52,600). On the other hand, the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant of Vivo Nex A would cost you CNY 3,898 (Approx. INR 41,000). The smartphones are now available for pre-order whereas the smartphones will be available in the stores by June 23. Let’s now look at the specifications and features of both the smartphones
Vivo Nex S
Vivo Nex S packs a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1080×2316 pixels. The display comes with 19.3:9 aspect ratio and 91.24% screen-to-body ratio. On the optics front, the smartphone sports a dual lens camera module at the back with an LED flash. The dual lens camera module comprises 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor as the primary camera sensor while a 5-megapixel sensor as the secondary sensor. At the front, as leaked earlier, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel pop-up camera sensor. The pop-up camera works with a motorized mechanism by which whenever the front camera is needed, it will pop-up/elevate above the smartphone. On the software front, the Vivo Nex S is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 4 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and the other 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, paired with 8GB RAM. The smartphone features 128GB/256GB inbuilt storage capacity, expandable using a MicroSD card. It is fueled by a powerful 4,000mAh non-removable battery.

Vivo Nex A
Vivo Nex A sports a 6.59-inch Full HD+ super AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1080x2316px. The screen comes with 19.3:9 aspect ratio and 91.24% screen-to-body ratio. When it comes to the front and the back camera features, Vivo Nex A replicates the optics specifications and features of that of the Vivo Nex S. Both the smartphones run on FunTouch 4.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box OS. It is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, 4 cores clocked at 2.2GHz while the other 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, paired with a lesser 6GB RAM than that of Vivo Nex S. The Vivo Nex A gives the inbuilt storage capacity of only 128GB. The Vivo Nex A encompasses the similar 4,000mAh non-removable battery of that of Vivo Nex S.
Connectivity options
Both the smartphones feature dual 4G LTE enabled SIM slots. The other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth v5.0, OTG support, USB 2.0 port. Sensors onboard are proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, digital compass and Gyroscope. Both the smartphones weigh 199g and measure 162x77x7.98mm.
