At the time when everyone is crazy about getting an iPhone X like Notch in their smartphones, Vivo has dared to show the world a new concept in display design. The Chinese smartphone maker has decided to dump the iPhone X like Notch design and bring the all-screen-no-bezel display design for the consumers. If you are thinking we are talking in the thin air, then let us recall the MWC 2018 where Vivo showed us the Bezel-less design of Vivo Apex. Do you recall the smartphone? Not yet, let me give you another hint. The same smartphone which was shown with a motorized front camera. I’m sure you have recollected it now.
This Vivo Apex has now surfaced online in the new codename i.e. Vivo Nex. The Vivo Nex surfaced on SlashLeaks shows the similar design as that of MWC 2018 announced Vivo Apex. It does resemble to Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S to a certain extent. The Vivo Nex shows no bezel at the top but has a thick chin supposedly for the sensors to accommodate. The four corners of the smartphone show the space for network bar (top left), battery status (top right), phone call (bottom left) and camera (bottom right) in the smartphone. This is how the smartphone looks from the front. Did we miss telling you about the selfie camera placement in the smartphone? If we did, let me talk about it now.
The Vivo Nex is reported to feature motorized selfie camera. Yes, you heard us right. Whenever you turn on the camera, the front camera will pop up from the top of the smartphone (as shown in the image below) with the help of a motorized mechanism.
The company is concerned about your like and dislike towards this feature, hence, the company is reportedly bringing another variant with a selfie camera embedded in the bezel above the display. The smartphone is also featuring in-display fingerprint scanner in one variant and fingerprint scanner at the back in the other variant. On the similar note, the Vivo X21 which is launching on May 29, will also reportedly feature 2 variants i.e. one variant with in-display fingerprint scanner and the other variant with fingerprint scanner at the back of the smartphone. The company’s choice to bring 2 variants may help the company to keep the consumers happy even if they happen to dislike the newly launched features.
The smartphone is reportedly ready to launch on June 12 in Shanghai. This is when we will come to know the exact specifications of the smartphone as against the leaks.
