In a shocking incident reported from Gujarat’s Jamnagar, Indian Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife was “brutally thrashed” by a cop after her car, allegedly, hit the cop’s motorcycle. Riva Jadeja, Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, was driving her BMW car on the Saru Section Road in Jamnagar when she, allegedly, hit the passing by motorcycle of a police constable, Sanjay Ahir, reported ANI. Ahir got angry with this incident and allegedly assaulted Riva “brutally”. The incident took place on Monday and Superintendent of Police (SP), Pradeep Sejul, has assured strict action against the accused cop. “The policeman physically assaulted Riva Jadeja after her car hit his motorcycle. We are providing all possible help to her and will take strict action against the policeman,” said Pradeep Sejul, reported TOI.

He also confirmed that an FIR (First Information Report) has been registered against Ahir. “We have registered an FIR in this matter, and we are going to take strict departmental action against the Police official,”. The SP also added that he has received strict orders from the DGP to not to tolerate any incident of misbehaviour with women. As per media reports, Riva was driving the car and Jadeja’s mother and a kid was present inside the car when the altercation took place between Riva and Sanjay Ahir.
The incident allegedly has an eye witness, Vijay Chavda, who told reporters, “The policeman mercilessly thrashed Riva and even pulled her hair during an altercation. We saved her from his clutches,” reported TOI. The police have detained the accused constable and a case has been registered against the accused constable. Ravindra Jadeja who is currently playing in IPL (Indian Premier League) 2018 representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has got the news about the incident. After his team has qualified for the Play off, the team has left for Mumbai to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
