Mumbai: After almost four days of wait, the medical report of Sheena Bora murder case’s prime accused, Indrani Mukerjea, has revealed the truth behind her ‘disoriented condition’. Indrani Mukerjea was admitted to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital on Friday night after she complained of uneasiness and difficulty in breathing. The former head of INX Media, Indrani Mukerjea, was rushed to Byculla’s JJ Hospital where she was provided the primary medication. Drug overdose or poisoning were much speculated as the reason for her disorderly health issues, however, the medical report was awaited to confirm anything.
JJ Hospital’s Dean, SD Nanandkar, finally said on Monday that Indrani’s Medical report confirms her health worsened due to overdose of an antidepressant. While talking to ANI, he said, “Overdose of benzodiazepine was suspected and that is what has come out positive in the test,”
It is not confirmed as to when Indrani would be discharged, however, the medical report, as of now, mulls any suspicion of any other mishappening. Earlier on April 8, Wiqar Shaik, Doctor at JJ Hospital, told ANI that she was suffering from Pneumonia and that she must be discharged within 1-2 days. “As soon as she is cured of Pneumonia we will discharge her. I think it will take 1-2 days for her to get discharged,” He, however, refused to answer on Drug overdose or poisoning apprehension.
In the earlier case in June 2017, Indrani had lodged a police complaint against the Byculla prison officials for allegedly beating her up. On a CBI court’s direction, she was allowed to file her complaint with police against prison officials for assaulting her and threatening to sexually assault her after she held a protest along with around 200 inmates against the death of a convict in the prison itself. Indrani is currently under custody in Byculla Jail in the murder case of her daughter, Sheena Bora, as a prime accused.
