Mumbai: The much awaited Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro have been unveiled at en event in Paris, France. The Chinese tech giant, Huawei, flag-off the P-series smartphones with enhanced camera lens and other features with this launch. The company also launched Huawei Porche Design Mate RS, a premium designed Huawei smartphone for the European consumers at the event. Talking about the highlight features of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, it encompasses AI-powered cameras, 360-degree face unlock system and many more.
The price of Huawei P20 is set as EUR 649 (Approx. INR 52,200) while the Huawei P20 Pro would cost EUR 899 (Approx. INR 72,300). The Huawei P20 dominates the front with it’s 5.8-inch Full HD+ (1080x2244px) RGBW display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 428ppi. On the optics front, the smartphone sports a dual camera module at the back with the primary being 12-megapixel RGB 1/2.3 inch camera sensor paired with f/1.8 aperture and the secondary camera sporting 20-megapixel Monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture and 27mm lens. The rear camera comes with a dual-tone LED flash to enhance the photography experience in the low light condition.
The front camera bears a 24-megapixel camera sensor with autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. It is powered by an Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, 4 cores clocked at 2.4GHz Cortex-A73 and other 4 cores clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone features 128GB internal storage expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card. The battery it packs comes with 3,400mAh power and company claims 75-hours of continuous music play with this power.
The Huawei P20 Pro sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ (1080x2240px) AMOLED display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 408ppi. The smartphone sports triple camera setup at the back with a dual-LED dual tone flash. The triple camera setup comprises of primary camera being 40-megapixel RGB 1/1.7-inch camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the secondary camera being 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. The tertiary camera features 8-megapixel Telephoto Leica lens with 3x optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture.
The smartphone sports 24-megapixel front camera sensor with autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. The Huawei P20 Pro is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, 4 cores clocked at 2.4GHz Cortex-A73 and other 4 cores clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 coupled with 6GB RAM. The smartphone features 128GB internal storage capacity like Huawei P20 and is expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card. The smartphone is fueled by 4,000mAh non-removable battery.
On the connectivity front, the two new P-series smartphones feature dual 4G VoLTE enabled SIM capability. The other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, FM Radio, Type C 1.0, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors onboard are fingerprint and face recognition sensor, proximity, digital compass, Accelerometer and Gyroscope. The P20 weighs 165g and measures 149.1×70.8×7.7mm whereas the P20 Pro weighs 180g and measures 155×73.9×7.8mm.
