Mumbai: The Chinese smartphone brand, Oppo, has finally unveiled it’s next flagship smartphone, Oppo F7 in India. The smartphone is a successor to last year launched Oppo F5 as the company has decided to skip the F6 version. The launch was glamoured by the entry of Oppo’s new brand ambassador, the Indian star cricketer, Hardik Pandya. The launch was witnessed by huge Oppo fans and journalists. The highlight features of Oppo F7 are the dual lens camera module at the back, 25MP AI enabled selfie camera, iPhone X like Notch and Sony 576 sensor HDR.
The company, BBK electronics, has launched the smartphone couple of days after it’s subsidiary brand Vivo launched Vivo V9 with quite competitive features. Talking about the price of Oppo F7, the smartphone is priced INR 21,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage variant while INR 26,990 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. The smartphone comes in Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red color variants. The sale is scheduled to start from April 2.
Let’s look at the specs and features of Oppo’s new born flagship smartphone
The Oppo F7 dominates the front with a 6.23-inch LTPS IPS Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 1080x2280px and 19:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 405ppi. The screen bears 89.09% screen-to-body ratio and is guarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The body is aluminium made rather than glass made. On the optics front, the smartphone sports dual 16-megapixel camera lens with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), Sony 576 sensor HDR and Panorama. The rear camera is backed by an LED flash to enhance the photography experience in the dim light condition. The front camera bears 25-megapixel lens with features like Beautify 2.0 which is augmented to differentiate between man and woman.
The smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P6 SoC, 4 Cores of which are clocked at 2.0GHz Cortex-A73 and the other 4 cores clocked at 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 with Mali G72 MP3 GPU. The smartphone is fuelled by 4GB/6GB RAM and comes with inbuilt storage capacity of 64GB/128GB respectively. Both the variants are expandable to 256GB using a MicroSD card (dedicated slot).
The smartphone runs ColorOS 5.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo. It is powered by a power-packed 3,400mAh non-removable battery compatible with fast-charging. On the connectivity front, Oppo F7 features Dual 4G VoLTE enabled nano SIM support. The other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5mm Audio Jack but doesn’t support FM Radio. The sensors onboard are light ambient sensor, proximity, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, Facial Sensor, accelerometer and digital compass. The smartphone weighs 158g and measures 156×75.3×7.8mm.
