Mumbai: The emerging smartphone brand in India, Vivo, launched it’s much speculated flagship smartphone Vivo V9 in India on Friday. The smartphone was earlier launched in Phillipines and Thailand before launching in India. The highlight features of the smartphone are 24-megapixel Artificial Intelligence (AI) Selfie Camera, Dual Lens Rear Camera setup, 19:9 FullView display, Snapdragon 626 SoC and iPhone X like Notch among the others. The smartphone is much similar to the rumours and leaks which were making rounds on internet before the smartphone first got launched.
The Vivo India CEO, Kent Cheng, expressed strong confidence in strengthening it’s foothold in the high quality smartphone manufacturing brand identity. He said, “We are confident that our latest flagship will set new benchmarks in the smartphone industry and further solidify our leadership position in the market,”

Vivo V9 as leaked earlier dominates the front with 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS FullView Display 2.0 with aspect ratio of 19:9 and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The screen resolution is measured 1080x2280pixels. On the optics front, the smartphone sports dual lens camera module at the back with primary lens with 16-megapixel resolution with f/2.0 aperture and 5-megapixel sensor as the secondary camera sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera popularly known as the selfie camera bears Artificial Intelligence features to beautify the selfie experience bears 24-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is equipped with Bokeh Effect, Portrait Lighting effect and AR stickers.
Vivo V9 runs FunTouch OS 4.0 based Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz Cortex-A53 with Adreno 503 GPU. The smartphone is fuelled with 4GB RAM and comes with 64GB inbuilt storage capacity expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card (dedicated slot). The battery capacity is 3,260mAh and doesn’t support fast charging. On the connectivity front, the smartphone features 4G VoLTE enabled dual SIM slot, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB port and 3.5mm Audio Jack. The sensors on-board are fingerprint, proximity, digital compass, accelerometer and ambient light sensor. The smartphone weighs 150g and measures 154.81×75.03×7.99mm.
