Lenovo K5 & Lenovo K5 Plus With 18:9 Display, 13-Megapixel Camera and 3000mAh Battery Launched

Mumbai: The Chinese tech brand, Lenovo, unveiled two K-series smartphones named Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play along with Lenovo S5 in China on Tuesday. We are talking about the budget-centric smartphones like Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play here. The highlight features comprise 18:9 display, dual rear camera module and power packed battery. The two smartphones are already live for pre-sale booking in China. The price of the smartphones are CNY 899 (Approx. The Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play sport the same 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The screen resolution measures 1440x720pixels and the rear panel is glass made with fingerprint scanner enbedded. On the optics front, the K5 sports dual camera setup at the back while a 5MP camera lens at the front with f/2.0 aperture. The dual camera module consists of 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5-megapixel secondary camera lens with f/2.2 aperture with an LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 3GB RAM and with GPU as Mali T860. The inbuilt storage capacity of the smartphone is 32GB expandable to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.




The Lenovo K5 Play differs in the chipset department as it is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC paired with 2GB/3GB RAM and with Adreno 505 GPU. The smartphone also differs with K5 smartphone on the optics front. The smartphone sports dual rear camera with primary being 13-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and secondary being 2-megapixel lens with f/2.4 aperture with an LED flash. The front camera bears 8-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture. The inbuilt storage capacity of the Lenovo K5 Play is 16GB/32GB, both of which can be expanded to up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. The battery it packs comes with similar 3,000mAh of that of K5 smartphone.

 

On the connectivity front, the two smartphones are dual Hybrid 4G VoLTE Nano SIM (standby mode) support. The other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS. The sensors onboard are proximity sensor, light ambient, digital compass, accelerometer and magnetometer.
