Mumbai: After the launch of Sony Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra in CES 2018, the Japanese tech brand, Sony, has launched the affordable Xperia L2 in India. Sony, which has a considerate amount of market share in smartphone segment in India, has brought few cool features in it’s newbie. The price of the smartphone is kept as INR 19,990 and is already on sale. Being the successor to the last year launched Sony Xperia L1, the smartphone doesn’t seem to have any major advancement done. The Xperia L2 packs a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD display with screen resolution being 720x1280pixels with pixel density of 267ppi. The screen is guarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and features Sony’s proprietary Image Enhancement Technology. Xperia L2 also has a fingerprint scanner at the back of the smartphone. On the optics front, Xperia L2 sports an 8-megapixel front camera with 120-degree wide angle lens and f/2.4 aperture without any LED flash at the front which may lack it’s preferability when compared to other smartphones available at this price. When it comes to rear camera, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash and supports 4K recording.
Xperia L2 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6737T processor paired with a 3GB RAM. The smartphone features 32GB Internal memory which is further expandable to up to 256GB using a MicroSD card in a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It is powered by a 33,00mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging. The smartphone weighs 178grams which is pretty much the same to it’s predecessor’s 180grams.
On the connectivity front, it supports Dual-SIM 4G VoLTE, Type-C USB, WiFi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and FM Radio. The color variants include Black and Gold.
