Is Amitabh Bachchan Quitting Twitter? All You Need to Know

Mumbai: The ‘Angry Young Man’ of Bollywood or the ‘Star of the millennium’ or ‘Big B’ as he is called by many, Amitabh Bachchan, the son of a famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, has worked in over 190 Indian films in a career of almost five decades. Bachchan has won many accolades in his career, including Padma Shri (1984), Padma Bhushan (2001) and Padma Vibhushan (2015) by Government of India for his contributions to art.

At the age of 75, Amitabh Bachchan is as active on social media as any teenager would be. Twitter, one of the biggest social platforms, never saw Big B’s absence. His tweets always gave insights into his state of mind, his professional life and his personal life. With 3,29,62,320 followers, Amitabh Bachchan was industry’s most followed personality on Twitter. His tweets always made his fans ecstatic, but his recent tweet sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Late Wednesday, the actor tweeted, “T2599 – TWITTER..!!!?? you reduced my number of followers..!!?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA..!! that’s a joke.. time to get off from you.. thank you for the ride.. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea and a lot more exciting!!”

This tweet came after news of Shah Rukh Khan becoming the top followed actor on twitter with 3,29,44,338 followers and Big B coming down to number two with 3,29,02,353 followers, gained attention.

Clearly, Big B is not happy with the decline in his number of followers and let’s be honest, no one would be happy losing followers along with the top spot of the most followed actor on twitter in India. Hopefully, it’s a joke and Mr. Bachchan keeps sharing his life with his fans on twitter.

On the work front, he is currently busy shooting for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ with Aamir Khan. On the other hand, SRK is shooting for Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’.
