Mumbai: The Finnish Tech Brand, HMD Global has launched it’s new smartphone Nokia 6 (2018) which is the successor to the last year launched Nokia 6. While the launch took place in China, the brand has not revealed when the smartphone will be launched in India. While this is the first of company’s new year smartphone, it has some tweaked features from it’s predecessor Nokia (2017). The Chinese e-commerce giant, Suning, has started accepting pre-orders and the sale of the smartphone will begin from January 10. Nokia 6 (2018) packs a 5.5 inch IPS Full-HD display with 16:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 1080×1920 pixel. The smartphone features aluminium unibody built with 6000 series aluminium and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The frontal fingerprint scanner and capacitative navigation keys which were located alongside the fingerprint scanner in Nokia 6 (2017) have been dumped, rather Nokia (2018) features fingerprint scanner at the back while the capacitative keys are converted into on-screen navigation keys.

 

The newbie smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at up to 2.2GHz. The smartphone supports Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is claimed to be Oreo-ready, and also features 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

On the optics front, Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture and supports PDAF. At the front, it sports an 8MP camera with 84 degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone retains the Bothie Effect feature for it’s cameras which is company’s own Dual-Sight technology. With the help of Dual-Sight technology, one can capture images using front and back cameras simultaneously. The smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with compatibility to fast charging. On the connectivity front, the Nokia 6 (2018) features Hybrid Dual-Sim (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, 4G VoLTE, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio Jack and USB Type-C.

When it comes to the price, Nokia 6 (2018) is priced CNY 1,499 (Approx. 14,600) for it’s 32GB variant while the 64GB variant is priced CNY 1,699 (Approx. 16,600). Color variant includes Black and Silver options.
