Mumbai: The South Korean leading tech brand, Samsung, has officially announced the availability of Samsung A8 and Samsung A8 Plus from early January 2018 for its consumers. The smartphones get their design from the popular Samsung Galaxy S8 and despite being economical than the Galaxy S8 and Note 8, the duo feature the Infinity Display and IP68 certified dust and water resistance features.
We cannot call them bezel-less smartphones but smartphones with less bezel. Another feature why the newbies have become the talk of the town is their Dual Camera setup which is the first to come in a Samsung smartphone and phones’ compatibility with Samsung Gear VR headset. Let’s look at their key Specifications and features that the company is boasting about
Samsung Galaxy A8 sports a 5.6 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED with screen resolution of 2220x1080pixels and with the screen aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus sports a 6 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. On the optics front, Samsung has tried to woo the selfie-freak consumers with their debut making dual camera setup at the front of both the smartphones. The primary 16 megapixel camera and the secondary 8 megapixel camera with the aperture of f/1.9 for both the smartphones.

The front dual cameras are claimed to give a super Bokeh experience with the option to make the background blurred or focused or the normal image. Unlike from the front camera, the rear camera is 16 megapixel single camera setup with f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera is efficient in taking VDis technology which is nothing but the Video Digital Image Stabilisation feature.
Samsung A8 and Samsung A8 Plus are powered by an Octa-Core Exynos Processor which includes the dual cores which are clocked at 2.2GHz and the Hexa cores are clocked at 1.6GHz speed. Both the smartphones support Android 7.1.1 Nougat and there is no information on their compatibility with Android 8 Oreo. With regards to RAM and internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A8 sports 4GB RAM with 32GB Internal storage whereas the A8 Plus sports two options like 4GB and 6GB RAM with 64GB Internal storage capacity.

Both the newbies come with the storage expansion option using the MicroSD card to 256GB. When it comes to Battery power, the A8 packs a 3,000mAh and A8 Plus packs a 3,500mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphones feature 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS-AGPS, USB port and NFC.
The price of the two phones haven’t been released yet.
