Mumbai: It’s not too late that a swadeshi brand, Intex, launched its Aqua Jewel 2 and Aqua Lions T1 in India last month and yet another Swadeshi brand, Micromax has launched its ‘Budget Friendly Boss’ smartphone for its consumers. The brand has launched the Bharat 5 smartphone with a giant battery power of 5000 mAh for its consumers. That’s right, 5000 mAh battery for a 5.2 inch HD screen-ed smartphone. Not just one but the company has planned to launch other Bharat-series smartphones in the next 2 months which includes Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro. The Indian brand has set the price as low as INR 5,555 for the smartphone which is a benchmark for any smartphone maker to touch. 1. Display

Bharat 5 packs a 5.2 inch HD display with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The company website also claims to have 2.5D curved glass to the smartphone.


2. Camera

On the optics front, the Bharat 5 sports a 5-mega pixel front camera with a 83.3 degree wide angle lens. This is backed with Beauty Mode to enhance the selfie experience for the users. At the back, it sports the similar megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.2, an LED flash and the auto focus. The company claims to power this smartphone’s camera with Bokeh and Panorama like features. Yes, you heard us right!! Bokeh feature in this highly budget friendly smartphone.

3. Software

The Bharat 5 smartphone is powered by a Quad Core MediaTek SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz speed. The smartphone supports Android Nougat and sports a 1GB of DDR3 RAM which indicates the multitasking with this smartphone has been tried to be kept seamless for the users.


4. Internal Storage

Bharat 5 helps you store files and photos to up to 16GB which is expandable to 64GB using a MicroSD card.

5. Battery

As we have already disclosed the highlight feature of this smartphone i.e. 5000 mAh non removable battery with a promised 500 hrs standby. The powerful battery at its price point will definitely make the buyers think twice before choosing any other brand for sure.


The price of this smartphone has been kept as INR 5,555 and will be available offline for users to buy. The company hasn’t disclosed as to how soon will this smartphone be available online.
