Since the time she shared the glimpse of her photo shoot for the ad, she has been constantly trolled on twitter. Bipasha, who is quite active on social media shared the advertisement and quoted “as a couple, the two believe in it and that’s why we have thoughtfully endorsed it.” Since then Twitterati’s who have gone crazy regarding her work on the advertisement, flooded her account with offensive tweets, while some compared her with adult actors and some gave her advises on how to choose her career. Some of the comments like “Bipasha Basu, not sure you should be doing this. Wait and explore good cinema. You do have a brand value,” and “No movies been offered to these two, so they have to resort to cheesy commercials,” prove the seriousness of her job in the ad.
Regarding this advertisement issue, Bipasha accompanied one of her posts with the note, “In a country that has the second largest population in the world. We still have taboos on just the words sex and condoms…”
Even after being trolled, Bipasha Basu was not shaken by these trolls and continues to share updates from the photoshoot on her Instagram but has deactivated the comments section to keep the trolls at bay. “The idea is to create awareness on the subject; it’s the need of the hour. I am doing no wrong by endorsing condoms.” Bipasha says confidently adhering to her choice. In her interview, Bipasha added that she came on board for the commercial because, “It was going to be shot by one of the most trusted photographers and ad-filmmaker in the business, Prasad Naik. So, I knew it would be aesthetically shot.”
Despite the controversies the ad created, in a country with highest amounts of sexual diseases Bipasha and Karan have fairly done a great job in promoting a important message to the society.
