Goa: In order to raise the bar of Digital India, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has developed an app called mAadhaar. This app contains all the necessary details that are available on the hard copy of your Aadhaar card like your name, date of birth, gender, the unique aadhaar number and photograph, etc. Therefore no need to worry about carrying your aadhaar card in its physical form. The mAadhaar app is currently available on the android platform, while the IOS users may have to wait for a while.
We can start by downloading the app on the Google play store. When the app is opened, it displays a page with the header ‘Create a password before importing your aadhaar profile on this mobile device’. Fill in the password, be sure the password is strong which means nobody would be able to guess it. Follow the steps by reading and ticking the ‘Terms & Conditions’ check box.
The next page gives the option of entering the Aadhaar card number manually or simply scan the QR-code available on the Aadhaar card. You will be then sent an OTP number through sms on your registered mobile number. After you enter the OTP number, the server will verify the details and give you full access to the app.
Recently, UIDAI has released a Time-based OTP feature for the app. With this feature, people would not have to wait for OTP to arrive on their smartphones instead, it would already be available through the mAadhaar app. It is important to note that for this feature to work appropriately, the device should be in sync with the India Standard Timing (IST). The app has been downloaded over a million times and therefore, citizens should make optimum use of this facility and encourage others also to do so. India is progressing digitally and we are an integral part of this humungous venture. Click here to download the app.
