Goa: The launch event was held in New Delhi and was also live on mi.com at 12PM IST on Oct 10, 2017. To commemorate the launch, Mr. Manu Jain (Vice-President of Xiaomi, India) hailed the audience and described that Xiaomi works with the motive which is “innovation for everyone” and the flagship launch was one such innovation so that everyone could relish the technology. He further said that the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the amalgamation of art & technology. He invited on stage, Mr. Jai Mani ( Lead Product Manager of Xiaomi, India) who enlightened the audience with the impact that Mi Mix 2 predecessor had on the world in just one year of its existence (Xiaomi Mi Mix was launched on Oct 25, 2016).

Talking about Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, it comes with a large 15.2cm (5.99 inch) bezel-less display (1080×2160 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio) LCD display with a pixel density of 403ppi and provision for DCI-P3 colour gamut. The innovation in this full screen display makes way for narrower chin, hidden ultrasonic proximity sensor and smaller selfie camera located at the front bottom of the device. It has 12MP back camera with dual flash and four-axis Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) which detects vibration with accelerometer and gyroscope, compensates tilt and pan angular movements and calibrates to help take steady shots. The camera also has a Sony IMX386 sensor which uses 1.25micron pixels to take brighter images even in low-light. The smartphone is designed with four-sided curved ceramic back plate. A scratch test was done with a coin, key and a pocket knife that left no mark. The phone runs on 3,400 mAh battery and comes with dual-SIM option and USB Type-C for charging and data sharing.

The flagship debuts with the world’s first 10nm snapdragon 835 processor integrated with more than 3 billion transistors and Adreno 540GPU which improves graphic performance. Backed by a 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB built-in storage, it is a lot more easier to work the device quite efficiently and store more data. Mi Mix 2 also supports 43 bands across 6 network modes therefore the device would work in 226 regions worldwide. The wide band coverage is sustained by 4*4 Mimo, 4-antennas and hence better coverage wherever you go.
All this sums up to the price being Rs. 35,999/- only and would be exclusive to Flipkart as of now.The first preview sale will be held on October 17 at noon.
