Goa: The smartphone industry is buzzing with this new term called ‘Bezel-less’. Sounds like some good technical term but it is important for anybody to understand this because everyone would want to hold a futuristic device. Therefore, even if you find massive discounts on phones online which are not bezel-less, it is less recommended to go for. Bezel-less smartphones are the next best thing. Smartphone bezel is all the plastic or metal on the front surface that is not display. Xiaomi is releasing the much awaited phone Mi Mix 2 in New Delhi on 10th October.

The smartphone in all its glory comes with a 5.99-inch touchscreen IPS LCD display and a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. Display has Corning Gorilla glass 4 protection. It runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and comes with 6GB RAM. The phone’s basic variant comes with 64GB of internal storage and is powered by 3400 mAh non–removable battery. Regardless of an increase in screen-to-body ratio (18:9), Mi Mix 2 is about 11.5 per cent daintier, 2.5 per cent thinner and 11.9 per cent smaller in size compared to the previous Mi Mix. Xiaomi has also further reduced the bottom bezel by around 12 percent. Mi Mix 2 features a 12-megapixel camera in the rear carrying a Sony IMX382 sensor having larger pixel size of 1.25um and 4-axis image stabilization and the front camera being 5MP is located at the front. It is important to note that the ear piece portrays ‘cantilever piezoelectric acoustic technology’ that reverberates through the metal frame and delivers it through the display.

Furthermore, the smartphone contains MIUI 9 based Android 7.0 Nougat and a dual sim slot which only accepts nano sim cards. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope and Barometer. Remarkably, the usual Xiaomi logo and text are omitted and there is – MIX Designed By Xiaomi to keep the phone look very neat. The phone is not water resistant. It looks like Xiaomi has taken great stride to build this flagship device in every way. A lot of smartphone companies but indeed Xiaomi has come a long way.
