Mumbai: This news may sound worrisome for some of the Mumbaiites living in the Southern parts of Mumbai. The news is about outage of water for around 16 hours in the city which is called the Economic Center of India on 04 March 2017. Yes, Water Cut in several parts of South Mumbai for around 16 hours.
According to TOI, BMC has planned to undertake replacement job of 1200 mm dia BFV ( Butter Fly Value) at Pumping Station at Bhandup Complex. TOI report further states that there will be water cuts from 9AM on 04 March 2017 till 1AM on 05 March 2017 due to the execution of the proposed task.
The areas which will be affected due to this Replacement work are Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Nariman Point, Tardeo, Girgaum, Walkeshwar, Worli, Lower Parel, Dadar, Mahim & Shivaji Park. It doesn’t limit to these areas only but also the entire Western Suburb area i.e. Bandra to Dahisar. The 20% water cuts in these localities will certainly create water shortage in these areas for around 16 hours. BMC officials have urged Mumbaiites living in the above mentioned areas to store sufficient water before 04 March 2017 to curb the shortage of water during the aforementioned specified period.
