The Chinese headquartered Asus has been working smartly to give the Indian consumers the premium looking metallic bodied smartphone. Thankfully, this strategy is working in the favour of the company in getting more consumers.
Talking about placement of volume rockers, it is placed on the right-hand side of Asus Zenfone 3 Laser above the Power button. To the left-hand side of Zenfone 3 Laser is the Dual-SIM Slot with a tray. The 3.5mm audio jack can be located at the top of the smartphone while the speaker grille along with charging port at the bottom. Four of the corners of Asus Zenfone 3 Laser are curved along the sides of the smartphone to give a smart finish to Zenfone 3 Laser and this finish brings a classy look to this Asus smartphone. This storage facility comes for 2 years but is good enough to store photos, videos, files and other documents. About the battery power of Asus Zenfone 3 Laser, it packs a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. You will find holding this smartphone very comfortable because of very light weight. Yes, it weighs only 150gms. Talking about software part, keeping the Android version intact from its Zenfone 3 models, Asus Zenfone 3 Laser also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is powered by an Octa-Core 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with 1.4 GHz speed coupled with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. As far as graphic quality is concerned, it comes with integrated Adreno 505 graphics.
You’ll love it’s 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. It supports HD recording at 30fps rate. It also flaunts 8MP front camera with same f/2.0 aperture. Though you wouldn’t rate the camera quality that high if you are a camera professional but you will find both front as well as rear cameras satisfactory at this price point. You can get some fairly decent images from this smartphone and store them due the storage capacity it provides you with. Asus claims the auto-focus feature being as quick as 30 milli seconds and we found really quick auto-focus by the camera of this smartphone. While recording the HD video recording from this smartphone, we found the Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) feature being result-focussed and helped capturing videos even in the state of movement.
To judge the performance of this smartphone, we opened a lot of apps at the same time and started using Asus Zenfone 3 Laser heavily. The smartphone managed to function without too much of lagging except few moments of slowing down. Otherwise, the smartphone really worked well. Unlike Asus Zenfone 3S Max (Review), Zenfone 3 Laser didn’t hang up and didn’t heated up. While playing games like Asphalt 8, which consumes battery power and processor speed, it didn’t lag in graphic motion. It also didn’t warm that much compared to other smartphones at this price point, even after continuous playing of high-end Android games. While charging the smartphone, it did show some heating effect. Talking about the finger print sensor, it responded really well while we were using it. The smartphone can be unlocked using finger print or unlock pattern. Sadly, it doesn’t support fast charging (Turbo Charging) so you will have to have patience to charge this Smartphone. Talking about it’s battery life, with high usage of Smartphone for Gaming, Shooting, Day-to-day tasks, Chatting, Video Streaming, it will still manage to last for a day.
