The Bollywood actor, Producer & Member of Parliament (MP) Vinod Khanna breathed his last around 11.20 am (IST) on 27 April 2017. He was suffering from advanced bladder cancer and was battling with it strongly but finally succumbed to this disease. Recently, a pic of Vinod Khanna in a deteriorated health condition was making rounds on social media when it caught eyes of all the media houses.
Khanna’s family initially denied of disclosing any information about his disease but the news got confirmed that Vinod Khanna is suffering from a kind of a cancer. Khanna was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital & Research Center on April 2, 2017. He was battling with a disease more powerful than our prayers.
Finally the 70-YO heart-throb of Bollywood swayed goodbye to the world and left the whole of Bollywood tear eyed. Bollywood’s famous stars like son Akshaye Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Abhishek Bachchan, Singer Udit Narayan among others attended Khanna’s last rites ceremony. Vinod Khanna was born on 6th October 1946 in Peshawar, North-West Frontier Province, British India which is now in Pakistan.
Vinod Khanna was born to Kishanchand and Kamla Khanna who were Punjabis.
After his Birth in 1946, the next year in 1947, India was divided into 2 Countries, India and Pakistan and his parents moved from Pakistan to India during the Partition.
Vinod Khanna studied in St. Mary’s School which is in Mumbai till Class II. Later, he completed his study in Delhi Public School which is in Delhi.
His Debut movie was ‘Man ka Meet’ where he played the role of a Villain. The movie was made by Sunil Dutt in 1968 and Directed by Adurthi Subba Rao.
Vinod Khanna have made more than 140 Films which includes many Bollywood hit movies like Achanak, Dayavan, Aan Milo Sajna, Purab Aur Paschim, Amar Akber Anthony, Qurbani, The Burning Train, Wanted ,etc.
He was married to Geetanjali in 1971 and they had two sons Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna, both of them are Bollywood actors today.
Later, Vinod Khanna and Geetanjali divorced due to some reasons and in 1990, Vinod Khanna married Kavita to whom he had a son and a daughter.
Vinod Khanna won many Awards in his Lifetime which includes two Filmfare Awards in the years 1975 and 1979 respectively.
